BODYARMOR Sports Drink Review

BODYARMOR sports drink is claiming to be the #1 natural sports drink on the market. I was recently provided with  a variety 6 pack of BODYARMOR at no cost so the athletes in my home could test it out. I was not compensated for this review and all thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you have an athlete in the house, chances are they drink a sports drink from time to time to stay hydrated.  One of my main concerns as a parent are the ingredients on the label and what exactly my child is pouring into his/her body.  BODYARMOR is a natural sports drink that contains natural flavors, natural sweeteners and natural colors.  I was suprised to see coconut water as one of the ingredients in BODYARMOR.  When I compared it side by side to some of the other major sports drinks, I discovered that not only did BODYARMOR have 20 times LESS sodium but it also has four times MORE Potassium per serving!

One thing that did catch my eye was the 18g of sugar per serving. Since each bottle contains 2 servings, that amounts to just about 9 teaspoons of sugar per bottle. When my kids are on the field playing back to back soccer matches in the hot sun, a big gulp of BODYARMOR is a welcomed treat. As with any flavored beverages, I always encourage parents to determine how many sugary drinks are enough for your child. There are 8 different flavors (we sampled 6) and they go down smooth with no icky aftertaste. All of my boys commented on how fruity the BODYARMOR sports drinks taste, and they also agreed that the bottle was the perfect size for them even though it is technically two servings.

Since I have no other natural sports drink to compare it to, I can't agree or disagree that BODYARMOR is the number one natural sports drink on the market. What I can say is the athletes at my house loved them, and we will be purchasing some in the near future for occasional sports related hydration.

Here in Northern California you can find BODYARMOR sports drinks at Safeway, Lucky's, Target and Raley's. To download  a printable coupon, click here.  You can also connect with BODYARMOR through their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram social media pages.
